Building a network of partners

The NUM Study Network brings together a nationwide network of university hospitals and partner institutions across Germany. These sites form the backbone of our collaborative research infrastructure, enabling the rapid and coordinated implementation of clinical studies.

Each site actively contributes to the network’s mission by:

  • Providing access to patient populations and clinical expertise
  • Participating in feasibility assessments and digital prescreening
  • Implementing study protocols and contributing to data collection
  • Hosting and piloting Specialty Networks across key medical fields

Our network is designed to be inclusive, interoperable, and scalable — ensuring that study sites can collaborate efficiently and effectively across disciplines and locations.

Nationwide Coverage

The map below shows all currently participating sites in the NUM Study Network. With representation across all regions of Germany, the network ensures broad geographic and population coverage, which is essential for robust and generalizable clinical research.

The Growth Plan of the NUM Study Network

The NUM Study Network is continuously expanding to strengthen research collaboration across Germany.

Starting January 1, 2025, 15 sites from the Specialty Network Infectious Diseases joined the network as part of an initial piloting phase lasting until June 30, 2025. This will be followed by the integration of 10 additional sites from the first expansion beginning July 1, 2025, with their onboarding phase extending through December 31, 2026. A second wave of 10 sites is planned to join from January 1, 2027, continuing the expansion through June 30, 2028. This phased development ensures the sustainable and strategic growth of the NUM Study Network.
