Where we want to go
We envision a future where clinical research is seamlessly integrated into healthcare across Germany - efficient, collaborative, and patient-centered. Through the NUM Study Network, we aim to create a sustainable research ecosystem that empowers hospitals and research institutions to generate high-quality evidence that directly benefits patient care and public health.
Our mission is to build and strengthen a nationwide, digitally supported infrastructure that enables fast, coordinated, and high-quality clinical studies—especially during times of crisis, such as pandemics. We strive to connect study sites, standardize processes, and support the rapid implementation of research through collaborative networks and digital tools.
Our primary aims are:
- to connect academic and clinical institutions across Germany in a unified study network.
- to enable efficient planning, feasibility assessment, and execution of multicenter studies through digital platforms.
- to establish specialty networks in key medical fields, enhancing subject-specific research and knowledge transfer.
- to pilot and scale solutions that streamline research processes, making them more transparent, interoperable, and inclusive.
- to strengthen Germany’s preparedness for future health challenges by embedding clinical research capabilities into routine healthcare structures.
Together, we are laying the foundation for a resilient, innovative, and inclusive research landscape - ready to meet the health challenges of today and tomorrow.
